Indiana Jones
In a press release today George Lucas called Indiana Jones the new Jesus Christ. He said that in the seventeen years since the last installment of his epic film was released the main character has grown to mythological status. He called the new Indiana Jones film the second coming of the Lord.

"The fans have formed such a cult that it is comparable to the cults of Jesus Christ," Lucas said, speaking of Christianity in general.

The new installement, 'Indian Jones and the Kingdom of the Skull', will open at 12:01 A.M on Thursday. It is expected to be the highest grossing opening weekend for a movie of all time, beating out last summer's blockbuster, 'Obama Superstar Kingdom Come Out of Nowhere'.

The
temples and churches, known to non-cult followers as movie theatres, have been stocking up on candles for Thursday's opening ceremonies.

"The opening ceremony for this film will be something like the lighting of the torch ceremony at the Olympics," said Lucas, "but the event that will be taking place will be akin to the second coming of Jesus Christ."

One fan interviewed was sobbing as she waited on line for tickets. When asked why she was crying she simply stated, "We will all be saved now."

That sentiment runs through the lines and message boards on the Internet.

At first glance this reporter thought George Lucas may be off his rocker, but after reading the scriptures of Indiana Jones, I think I may be reborn.

All hail the new born son!
